Great rides

Check for the best rides taking you over amazing terrain around Christchurch or further afield. And there are rides for everyone!

Click here for more information on great rides and print maps of your favourite rides, or new rides that you didn't even know about.

Getting around - the city is mostly flat, you don't have to work too hard to reach your destination. Check out the maps and routes for getting around. The routes show whether your ride is ‘on-road, with some cycle lanes', ‘off road or on quiet streets'. This means you can choose the best cycling route and make the most of the many scenic rides.

The Port Hills network of mountain bike tracks offers fantastic ride variety, with tracks that wind their way to the Summit Road - rewarding you with vistas over Lyttelton Harbour or across the City and the alps beyond.

Escape the heat and head for forest rides either at Bottle Lake or McLeans Island. The mountain bike tracks are great for all levels and ages - making it an excellent family outing.
