Somerfield to City

About this ride

• Start at the end of Somerfield Street by Ashgrove Terrace, by the foot and cycle bridge over the Heathcote River
• Follow Studholme Street
• At the sharp bend follow straight ahead into Somerfield Park
• Follow the path through Sydenham cemetery and across Roker Street
• Follow Simeon Street to Milton Street
• Use the crossing point to the left if necessary
• Follow Simeon Street northbound
• Cross Coronation Street and Brougham Street
• Follow Collins Street to Church Square
• Pick up the short access lane at Church Square and join the path around the west side of Church Square
• Follow the path to the north side of Church Square and the intersection with Grove Road
• Follow Grove Road to the Moorhouse Avenue and Lincoln Road intersection
• Cross at the lights into Hagley Park
• It can be quicker to use the pedestrian signals on the right to cross Moorhouse Avenue and follow Lincoln Road to Hagley Park
• In Hagley Park turn right
• Follow the path to Riccarton Road and Hagley Avenue intersection ("Hospital corner")
• Just before reaching the intersection re-join the cycle lanes on Hagley Avenue
• Cross at the lights and follow Oxford Street to Anigua Street bridge
• Arrive at city centre
